What Are Chirashi Posters?
Chirashi are small-format movie posters used to promote films in Japanese cinemas. Typically distributed during a film’s theatrical run, they’re printed in limited numbers and only available at the time — making them highly collectible.
Most are produced on high-quality paper and feature either a double-sided print or bi-fold format. Their scarcity and age often drive long-term value, especially for cult and classic releases.
Unique Japanese Artwork
What makes Chirashi truly special is the artwork. Many designs are created specifically for the Japanese market, often bearing little resemblance to the posters released elsewhere. In many cases, they’re more visually striking — minimalist layouts, vivid palettes, and unique typography that reflect Japanese design culture.
Some prints go even further, including fold-out layouts or specialty formats that you won’t find in any other region.
Poster Sizes
We specialise in Japanese Chirashi posters in B5 size (approx. 7" x 10" / 18 × 26 cm). This format — sometimes called a “movie flyer” — is a popular size among collectors in Japan.
B5 posters are compact and affordable. You can build a deep collection without needing a huge amount of wall space.
